Salt Bae brings fresh steak and burger concept to Dubai Mall
The concept marks a shift from the traditional Nusr-Et format
DUBAI – Salt Bae is returning to Dubai’s restaurant scene with a new dining concept that brings premium steaks and freshly prepared burgers under one roof.
Saltbae Steak & Burger is set to open at Dubai Mall on September 25, introducing a more relaxed format while retaining the theatrical service associated with Turkish restaurateur Nusret Gökçe. The menu will feature premium steaks, signature burgers, freshly prepared sides and desserts.
The new venue represents a departure from the traditional Nusr-Et Steakhouse model that helped Gökçe establish an international hospitality business. The concept is designed for both quick meals and longer dinners, offering a contemporary setting while maintaining elements closely associated with the Salt Bae brand.
Fresh format
The Dubai Mall restaurant will feature tableside presentations that helped turn Gökçe into one of the restaurant industry’s most recognisable personalities. The company said the concept would draw on his experience in selecting, preparing and cooking meat, with burgers made fresh daily and served with dedicated sauces and sides.
The opening also places Saltbae Steak & Burger in one of Dubai’s busiest dining destinations. Dubai Mall attracts millions of international visitors each year and houses hundreds of food and beverage outlets, creating a competitive environment ranging from fast-casual operators to premium restaurants.
Gökçe opened his first Nusr-Et restaurant in Istanbul in 2010 before expanding to Dubai in 2014. His international profile surged in 2017 after a video showing him slicing meat and sprinkling salt down his forearm went viral, earning him the nickname “Salt Bae”.
Gökçe subsequently expanded Nusr-Et into an international restaurant brand, with venues in cities including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, London, Miami, New York and Istanbul. The business became known not only for its steaks but also for elaborate presentations, including dishes featuring gold leaf, and high-value bills that frequently attracted attention online.
Saltbae Steak & Burger follows recent Nusr-Et openings in Mexico City and at Emaar Square Mall in Istanbul.
